"Hypnosis is a form of highly focused attention. It's actually a way of enhancing people's control."
- Dr. David Spiegel, Stanford University, Newsweek, 9/04Hypnotherapy enables you to change habits, reduce stress and achieve your goals - much more easily than you can in a state of normal awareness. Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years to help people with a wide variety of mental and physical challenges, since it gained popularity in the late 1700’s. Hypnosis is a state that allows you to totally focus and concentrate. It is a state in which a person’s normal critical or skeptical thinking is bypassed and their mind is more open to positive suggestions of change. Have you ever been deep in thought while driving and all of a sudden your exit is right there, or been so focused on a movie or book that you didn't hear someone calling you, or found yourself daydreaming? That's what being hypnotized is like, only taken to a deeper level. While experiencing hypnosis, a person develops a greater receptivity to positive suggestions and ideas of change.
